HYPERLOOP-TT PAVILION

MILWAUKEE, WI

This junior studio project emerged from an invitation from the HyperloopTT team. The team had observed previous design outcomes from my studio instruction both at the University of Idaho and Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design wanted to pursue innovation through a speculative design studio setting. The process began on the front end with first determining an appropriate site for a HyperloopTT Station. Research proved to be consistent with previous feasibility studies by other institutional findings but enhanced by a site proposal just south of Downtown Milwaukee with adjacency to festival grounds and museums on the shores of Lake Michigan as well as a vibrant Third Ward neighborhood.

The base-building was set up to serve as a community hub with site design that incorporates outdoor gathering that slips into the interior cafe, bar, and gallery spaces. The main station sweeps through the site above the pavilion and flexes the pavilion's roof plane into a sweeping gesture resulting in an eventful integration of transportation technologies and infrastructure with the urban context.
